Whether your child is starting the Pre-primary Program, joining us for the first time, or returning for another year, we are so happy you are part of our school community.
From our youngest learners to our Grade 4 leaders, every child and every family is an important part of our school.
Growing Strong Problem Solvers
Our main goal this year is to help every child become a confident and effective problem solver.
Problem solving is about much more than just math. Children solve problems all day long. The solve problems when learning something new, working with others, handling disagreements or facing something difficult.
From pre-primary to Grade 4, we will work with students to understand a problem, try different strategies, ask for help, and keep going when things are difficult. These skills will be part of learning, play, friendships, reading, writing and math.
Our goal is for students to think, “I have a problem. What can I try to help myself?”
Ubuntu and Bucket Filling
Our work will continue to be guided by Ubuntu, which means "I am because we are." Ubuntu reminds us that we are connected. We are stronger when we care for one another, include others, and help everyone feel that they belong.
We will also continue to be a school of bucket fillers. We fill someone's bucket when we are kind, helpful, encouraging and caring. These simple ideas help our children learn that their words and actions matter.
Together, problem solving, Ubuntu and bucket filling will help us build a school where children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
